Looking For Fur-ever Homes!
Martinez Animal Hospital (MAH) rescues and finds homes for cats and kittens to help reduce over-population and the overwhelming number of kittens in shelters. Each kitten receives a complete health screening before entering our adoption condo. Here, they continue to receive quality care, socialization and love until the purr-fect family agrees to adopt.
We at MAH are committed to maintaining the lifelong health of our patients and adoptees, as well as preventing disease transmission to their families. This requires consistent preventative wellness care and close communication among the healthcare team, including client and veterinarian. Based on recommendations from the American Veterinary Medical Association, MAH has adopted the following standards for routine wellness care for all client and adopted cats:
TWO VETERINARIAN VISITS WITH PHYSICAL EXAM PER YEAR
Twice-annual visits are suggested because pets age an average of 7 years for each 1 human year. Your pet’s health can change quickly over a one-year period. Prevention, early detection and treatment are key to a long healthy life.
Every 3 years for cats under 8 years old
Every 12 months (with urine test) for cats over 8 years old
FECAL PARASITE TEST
Every 12 months with deworming as needed
Every 1-3 years depending on age
FVRCP VACCINEEvery 1-3 years depending on age
Every 12 months for outdoor cats
Performed prior to adoption
